Cross-Country Craic
Senior children in the school today began training for cross-country running in Fr. Burke Park with Mr. Geraghty. Many muddy days lie ahead, well done everyone!
'My Eclipse Experience'
Written by Steven Alvarez Leonard (2nd Class)
On August the 21st we went to Tennessee to see the Solar Eclipse and we stayed in a cabin. The cabin was from the 1930's. It was a beautiful cabin. It had a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. On Solar Eclipse Monday we went Crossville to see the total eclipse. It lasted for 2 minutes. I was so amazed by the solar eclipse. It was a confusing day for the animals because it was completely dark. The crickets were going mad! It was a fantastic day.
Céad Míle Fáilte
It was great to see all the children back today, well-rested after their summer holidays and ready for another year of learning and playing together in Claddagh School. We look forward to many great adventures together.
We also, of course, are delighted to welcome our two new classes of Junior Infants, who all had a great first day at school with their teachers, Ms. Ledwith and Ms. Ferguson. Here they are, smiling away at the prospect of eight whole years of fun in Claddagh!
Ms. Ledwith's Junior Infants prepare to go home after a long first day at school*.

Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much to all our children, parents and staff for everything they have all done to help make this another great year of learning and playing together in safety and happiness at Claddagh National School.
See you all at the end of the summer, enjoy your holidays!
Every Day Counts
Congratulations and a big "thank you" to all the children who achieved 100% attendance for this school year. They were all awarded this week with a plaque in a special ceremony to recognise their efforts. Well done, all!
Óglaigh na hÉireann, Scoil an Chladaigh
What day! What a treat! Claddagh NS on tour (again!!) Our school's football team was invited to Renmore Army Barracks for an inter-schools Gaelic blitz....but this was much more than just football: Weapons displays, assault courses, a tour of the barracks and a great big feed in the mess hall. Go raibh maith agaibh, Óglaigh na hEireann.
Senior Sports Day 2017
The senior classes had an amazing day of sport in Fr. Burke Park today. It was great to see how the children have improved their fitness in recent years. Well done to everyone who tried their best and, most importantly, enjoyed the day!
Well done, also to the deserving recipients of the Brendan Forde Perpetual Trophy and our Sportstar of the Year trophies. Special thanks to Mr. Geraghty who put so much effort into organising the day.
